Waiting for Baby Number Three to Arrive

image

I decided the most fitting word to sum up my week is waiting. If someone asked me to describe the last days of pregnancy, I’d say they are a waiting game. One of the few things in life that we have absolutely no control over whatsoever, is when our babies will decide to be born. They’ll come out to play when they are good and ready. If that happens to mean going two weeks overdue, well so be it really.

I’ve done as much in the way of preparing that I possibly can, and my little family is as ready as we’ll ever be. Life will undoubtedly be turned upside down once our boy comes into the world, so I’ve been enjoying this precious time with my littlest this week. Hubby has booked half term as annual leave, and we’ve tentatively planned bits and pieces next week to keep the girls entertained just in case he isn’t here yet.

So here we are… patiently waiting… one thing is certain though: this baby will be born before the month is over!

  5. My oldest was 11 days late, but I then had two elective sections, so I had an end date, which for a planner like me was wonderful 🙂 Sending lots of love and luck, look forward to hearing all about your boy xx ww

  6. What an exciting time… and a weird one when you are overdue, isn’t it? Most hated sentence at the time: “Not given birth yet?”… No, Sherlock, I have NOT! Enjoy every minute with your little ones and put your feet up. It is actually quite nice having everything ready and still having some time with the big ones 🙂 x

  7. Your last sentence reminds me of my own feeling in the last few days that it would never be over, and having to remind myself that of course it would, and by a certain date, as no-one ever has a 43 week pregnancy…

Wishing you all the best with the birth.

  8. I hope you don’t have to wait too long, I wish you and the baby well. xx

  10. I was lucky, I never went over with mine. BB was 2 days before his due date and my twins were induced at 38 weeks. It is tough not knowing when things will happen though, but it will all be over soon and you will have another gorgeous little bundle in your arms. Take care x

  11. Oh wow you were lucky! My girls were 8 and 12 days late, so I’ve never thought this one would be early or on time. It’s all good though :o) xx

  12. I was fortunate in that my daughter came 1 day earlier than her due date, and my son was a planned C Section, so a week early, though even then, I didn’t like waiting! You sound like you’ve made peace with it, and as you say, baby will be here within the month – exciting! Thanks for joining in with #WotW x

  15. I know that waiting game all too well, I was almost two weeks over with each of my last 5 babies and each day feels like an eternity, I hope you feel more patient than I did! Good luck with everything x #WotW

  16. I hope your not waiting too long. What a lovely post, I sense a calmness that you really need in the last stages of pregnancy. I really hope I have that at the end, as I’ve not had the calmest pregnancy by any stretch. God luck to you and your family and I’ll look forward to some good news very soon
