The Tower Of London

We had friends in town last week, and one thing they were desperate to see was the Tower of London. Hubby managed to score us free tickets through work (yay!) and we headed there for the afternoon after seeing some other sights before lunch.

I was so fascinated by this place, and can’t really believe I’ve never been before. The girls and our friends 2yo were in their absolute element, wandering around freely looking at all the ‘castles’. Everyone was stoked to see the guards changing at 5pm, which entailed a full on procession and crowds of people gathering out of nowhere.

Whilst the crown jewels are of course fabulous, I don’t see why we can’t just sell them and clear the deficit? Seems silly to have £20bn worth of diamonds just sitting in a room for tourists to gawk at.

There was lots to see and do. We were there for about three hours but could have easily spent longer if we’d got there earlier. All in all it was a great way to spend an afternoon and the kids really did love it.
