After a very successful trip to the Natural History Museum on the last day of the Christmas holidays, we thought we’d do the same to see off the Easter hols. 4yo had two inset days after Bank Holiday Monday, so the Weds seemed perfect to go into town. I think most of the kids must have returned to school because the Science Museum was no-where near as packed as it has been in the past when we’ve gone at the weekend. It was a fab opportunity to wander around quite freely, and at times it felt as though we had the place to ourselves.

The girls especially loved the aeroplanes, and were rather fascinated by the cockpit. We spent ages checking everything out. Unfortunately this is also where my phone (and camera!) died. What kind of self-respecting blogger leaves the house without being fully charged?!

The other highlight was a free kids show on bubbles. The ‘Explainer’ (real job title!) entertained us for almost half an hour, and blew lots of bubbles of varying shapes and sizes. The girls then had fun playing in the Water Garden.

All in all a lovely day out, I can highly recommend it! Especially if you find yourself with a random mid week inset day, as chances are it’ll be a lot quieter than usual 🙂
