As many of you know already, I published Become the Best You in November. It’s part memoir, part self-help, and in it I speak about breaking away from negative dysfunctional behaviour – largely caused by the bullies that dominated my childhood – to become a better me. Although my life is far from perfect, as a happily married mum of three, it’s a million miles away from where I started.
It’s International Women’s Day, so I decided to re-share a link to my book on Facebook, and asked my friends to share it with their friends. The response has astounded me, here are some of the status’s dedicated to Become the Best You today.
“This is the book my wonderful friend Reneé had published last year. Bigging her up on International Woman’s Day. She’s a huge inspiration to me and her book is fantastic.”
“Today on International Women’s Day, I’m supporting an incredible woman, who I’m proud to call a friend, to promote the book she published last year. A story which continues to unfold in her life today, this little girl bravely shares her journey to beat the many odds she faced in her childhood to rebuild her life and become the best ‘her’! She’s an inspiration and I adore her!”
“Today is International Women’s Day and I would like to promote my friend Renee’s book called ‘Become the Best You’ which she published last year. Renee is an inspiration, an amazing Mummy to three gorgeous children, a great friend and work colleague. Please read her book!!”
I’m humbled by these kinds words, and all the shares my post received. When you’re estranged from your entire family like I am, having amazing friends is essential. Thank you to each and every one of you!
I’d also like to say a huge thank you to the fabulous blogging community, for all their support. You can find interviews, book reviews and mentions on all the blogs listed below.

No-one should ever have to settle for a substandard life because they had a difficult start. My journey is proof that it’s possible for anyone to turn it all around, and have the life they want and truly deserve.
I am thrilled that Become the Best You is inspiring others to break their own cycles of dysfunction. It’s been an awesome first three months for the book, and I’m really excited to see what happens in the next three.
