As a blogger I read lots of other blogs. I have my favourites, which I read time and again, and occasionally I’ll stumble across something new that will entice me to go back for more. I thought it might be nice to share the love with a new feature, and let you in on a few of my best reads of the week.
Sara is a stay at home mum of three and blogs at Mum Turned Mom. She’s also an expat Scot living in Boston, and writes beautifully, but honestly about family life away from her loved ones. In her short poem distance she sums up the rollercoaster of emotions she felt during a recent trip home. The sadness of saying goodbye left a lump in my throat.
Although Amy has been blogging at Mr & Mrs T Plus Three for about a year I’ve only recently started following her. In A Farewell to Breastfeeding she talks about her third daughter self-weaning and it all coming to a natural, yet bittersweet end. I could have written half of this myself (although not as well!) as I feel the same way about my little man. Absolutely stunning words, and a gorgeous blog.
Tim is a dad of three who blogs at Slouching Towards Thatcham. His witty, dry sense of humour is easy to relate to, and often resonates with me. From Failure: An Epiphany is all about not making the shortlist for the Brit Mums blogging awards. With exception of the 120 bloggers that did make the list, I’d say most others bloggers in the UK will agree with him.
What have you been reading this week? I’d love some recommendations in the comments section 🙂
