Review: Fantastic Services House Deep Clean

review fantastic services house deep clean AUG15
my house often rocks the just been burgled look!

I enjoy blogging for many reasons, but every now and then an opportunity arises that literally has me punching the air and congratulating myself on the amazing idea of starting Mummy Tries. When the one stop shop for all your home needs Fantastic Services offered me a six hour house deep clean in exchange for this review, I did just that!

As you can imagine, with three kids, our house gets pretty messy on a day to day basis. Okay, if I’m being honest it looks like we’ve just been burgled half the time. It takes a lot of effort to just clear up at the end of a long day, and keep the kitchen and living space clean. Giving the bathroom and downstairs loo a good scrub always ends up being at the bottom of my very long to do list, and don’t even ask me when I last dusted because I’d be embarrassed to give you the answer.

We also have a lot of glass, which is usually covered in three sets of grubby paw prints. Our house is not big, in fact we desperately need more space, but making it look pristine is out of my remit. I have blogs and books to write in my spare time doncha know!

A few days before my clean I had a telephone chat with the booking centre. They asked what I’d like the cleaners to concentrate on – for me it was the bathroom, downstairs loo, woodwork, kitchen cupboards and giving the upstairs carpets a good going over. They also asked practical questions about the property, such as parking restrictions. I was really impressed by this personal touch; they could have just as easily asked for the information online.

Fantastic Services lived up to their name. When the team of two arrived promptly armed with all their cleaning supplies, paraphernalia, and smiles (very important!) I took the kids to the park. They set to work right away before we’d even left, we came back three hours later and TA-DA… walked into a sparkly, shiny, good as new house. I’m pretty certain it was cleaner than when we first moved in four years ago! The clean even passed the inspection of my six year old, which trust me is no mean feat, that kid doesn’t miss a trick!

We are of course still bursting out of the seams of our modest three-bed home, but it’s lovely and clean. I wonder how long it will last πŸ˜‰

A deep clean like this would set you back around Β£95, which in my humble opinion, is money well spent. Other Fantastic Services on offer are gardening, house moves, rubbish removals, window cleaning and a whole lot more. Don’t just take my word for how great they are either, check out these recent reviews by Dad Blog UK and Mummy Says.

As a special treat for my readers, Fantastic Services are offering Β£10 off your first booking, by quoting the discount code MumTries. The code is valid until the 31st December 2015.

Seriously, what are you waiting for?!

  1. I was SO impressed with them and they did a great job on our windows. I might need to book them for a clean though! It’s just so hard to keep on top of everything isnt it! x

  2. I always feel that there’s something not quite right if I step into an immaculate house that contains small children. Then again I grew up in complete chaos, so perhaps I have lower standards than most πŸ˜‰ Sounds like you have a good system with LD#1, I’m sure LD#2 will join in once she realises the benefits of having some £££ πŸ˜‰

People really do only share the best bits – I always know when my friends are having problems because they stop posting photos on Facebook!

  3. I’m jealous!! Of all the opportunities I’ve seen bloggers talk about over the years I think this sounds the most exciting.

I’d have imagined this would be more expensive. I’m seriously considering getting one done now!.

  4. I love the way you are so honest about how difficult it is to keep a house clean and tidy when you have little ones.
Same as your last post about how you only found out afterwards that parents tend to just share the best bits with the rest of the world – that piece of wisdom has stayed with me over the last few days.
I remember the despair of the permanently messy house… luckily LD#1 (age 16) has now realised the advantages of accepting my offer of Β£1 a day to keep her room *completely* clear each day. But #2 won’t have it!

  5. I’ll be honest. I do a deep clean once a year and it’s not my most favourite job. I’ve never considered paying to get it done but I’ve paid this much to get my carpets cleaned so I might be giving this a try. X
