It doesn’t seem possible that it’s been an entire year since we made chocolate pasta, and a huge mess, to celebrate you turning two. I had a rather large belly back then that was housing your baby brother, and you loved snuggling up to it.
Over this year you have graduated from toddlerhood, and blossomed into a beautiful little girl. Confident and comfortable in your own skin, you certainly know your own mind. Preferring to do things your own way, you often put huge smiles on our faces with your little quirks and antics. The other day you were watching your sister pick her nose. I asked if she had found anything interesting up there, and you cutely replied “a booger mama, she found a booger up she’s nose”!
You are so physically able – flying down the road on your scooter, and already getting the hang of the bike your cousin passed on. You’re a fantastic little swimmer too, and can swim independently now with the buoyancy vest on. At the park you give the big kids a run for their money, which can lead to daddy and I having a minor heart attack! We get lots of compliments on how gorgeous you are, and although I’m biased, I couldn’t agree more.
Your current big loves include jigsaw puzzles, Noddy, Winnie the Pooh and dried figs. You declared one day that you “didn’t like lunch” and often have a massive breakfast, then just a few snacks throughout the day. Sometimes you have a decent dinner, sometimes not. It used to worry me, but it doesn’t anymore, it’s just the way you roll and that is fine.
You skipped the potty and went straight to the toilet using your training seat. After less than one week of accidents you’ve been amazing, and less than a month later, are already well on your way to being dry at night.
In a couple of weeks time you’ll start pre-school, and all of a sudden you seem very grown up! Our baby girl isn’t a baby anymore. She’s a big girl.
Happy third birthday Clara Belle, we love you very very much!
