Mince Pie Alternative: Super Easy Recipe

Hands up if you need a mince pie alternative…

I do love a good mince pie, but finding one that is dairy free and low in sugar is neigh on impossible so I always make my own. If I’ve got loads of time going spare I’ll make pastry, but spare time is not something I’m abundant in right now. I recently discovered the delights of ready rolled puff pastry, and once again it hasn’t let me down! For a hassle free Christmas treat, why not give this a go.

Mince Pie AlternativeIngredients for six slices

150g Puff Pastry
150g Mincemeat – I make my own, but any will do
Tbsp coconut oil
Tsp flour (for dusting)

Method
– preheat your oven to 200C

– lightly flour a chopping board or flat surface

– roll out the pastry so it’s nice and thin

– smear the mincemeat all over the pastry, leaving a one inch boarder around the edges

– roll up tightly and place on a lightly greased baking tray, paint with coconut oil and bake for 20 minutes
