Easy Peasy Cake Pops

2014-08-13 08.47.51

I’ve blogged before about my thoughts on cake pops, and overall I stand firm on feeling that substance should win over style which is rarely the case. The other day we were housebound due to one thing and another, and the girls were going a little stir crazy so I thought we would make some of these little babies as a distraction. It worked wonders and certainly broke the tension. It was a fab activity, even if my kitchen side did resemble a bomb site afterwards…

Ingredients:
a cake, I used this recipe with added raisins for sweetness
50g raw organic cacao butter
2 heaped tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp honey

Method:
– allow your cake to cool completely then crumble into a tiny pieces

– in the meantime melt the cacao, along with the cocoa and honey in a small bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water

– roll your cake crumbs into bite sized balls, then place in the freezer for ten minutes

– now dip each piece into your melted chocolate* which will set instantly. Enjoy 🙂

*if you don’t want the faff of making your own chocolate, just melt a 100g bar instead
