A wet and windy trip to the sea

After my emotional week I’m pleased to report that the weekend was fab! Hubby had his annual boys overnight on Sat, and I was understandably nervous about flying solo. My friend suggested she drive us all to Brighton, and even though the weather was pants we went. I’m so glad we did because it was a great day out. We didn’t take a buggy for 2yo and accidentally ended up parking way out of town. I was concerned she wouldn’t cope with all the walking but both her and her sister did marvellously well.

We made it to the beach for a very brief toe dip and the girls had a ball. I treated them to some Montezuma’s organic dark chocolate for the way back which they loved and spurred them on for the walk to the car. We got home around 6.15 and I had them in bed asleep by 7pm…where…wait for it…they both slept all night long! Baby boy only woke up for one feed as well, so I had the best sleep in weeks.

Sunday morning was lovely, and I honestly cannot remember feeling that way about a morning in a very long time. We went to my favourite farmers market with a gorgeous neighbour of ours and her two kids, then had a stroll around the park afterwards. When we got home a very hungover hubby was waiting for us. The poor guy’s head is going to be hurting all week by the sound of it!

Lets hope the good vibes will last and the sleep continues 🙂

I think the sea air did something magical in lifting our spirits you know! Must make sure we see the sea regularly over the holidays. I was amazed at how well the girls cope with all the walking! Parking looks horrendous, I’m so glad I don’t drive sometimes!

Wow, that’s impressive! Parenting on your own can be scary, but it sounds like you did exactly the right thing with them 🙂

It’s really nice to see a picture of you all. Imagine if fresh sea air could sort everything out?!

Parking in Brighton is sooo horrendous. I’m not sure what the answer is on a weekend – the central car parks get full and you have to queue, and the one way systems and busy-busy traffic on the seafront make it so difficult to find your way around.

I’m glad you had a good day out and sorry about the past week 🙁 Hope the coming one goes better with those good memories inside you.
