Guilty Pleasures #ThePrompt

When Sara issued her prompt this week I felt excited at the prospect of writing a post around it. Then it dawned on me that I don’t actually have any these days! The thought made me sad, but only briefly, because I started thinking of all the guilty pleasures I’ve enjoyed over the years instead, and that made me smile. Here are some of my faves…

- Bikram Yoga, way before it got too trendy for its own good

- ditto colonic irrigation, the ultimate detox cleanse

- clubbing all weekend in Brixton mostly

- playing (& winning!) drinking games with the boys

- chatting to complete strangers in night clubs, making new friends everywhere I went

- day dreaming about the next set of travel plans and always having something to look forward to

- lazy hungover Sunday’s

It’s been fun reminiscing over the fun ‘good old days’, but I wouldn’t go back there for all the money in the world. Even if the closest I get to a guilty pleasure now is feeling elated that I’m winning against the washing pile ;-)

  1. To me those all sound like, pleasures, not ‘guilty’ pleasures (as I mentioned in my post!) Lovely to have a bit of nostalgia in your life though and here’s to lots more fun in the future! X #theprompt

      1. Yes Sara’s post is spookily similar (separated at birth?!) except when she thinks “lets get out the crafting materials next” I’m thinking “lets sit down with a cup of tea and a biscuit next” – now *that’s* a guilty pleasure!! :-)

  2. Love your list especially Bikram Yoga. I really wish I lived closer to Manchester so I could go more. When I worked in the city I went all the time and when I lived in Seattle I did it twice a week. It really is amazing. Well you need to make new pleasures my lovely. and compile a list of things for just you for the future!!! Lovely post. #prompt

    1. I used to love Bikram but it just wasn’t the same when I went back after having 4yo. It was always too packed and too smelly :( such a shame as it was great while it lasted xx

      1. Ahh that really is a shame. boo. Saying that I haven’t been since I had my second. I think they allow too many in at once. It’s like stacking sardines.

  3. Oh, I don’t know! Winning against the washing pile is a pretty good feeling :) You need to get yourself some new guilty pleasures! It’s interesting to look back at what we once thought was the best way to spend and day and see how it’s changed now :) Thanks so much for linking to #ThePrompt x
